Legal Protection

Waypost advocates help you understand your legal options and move through the system at your own pace. You are never required to take any specific legal action to receive support.

Protection Orders: An advocate can explain what a protection order is, whether it might fit your situation, and how to file one, including help with paperwork and knowing what to expect in court.

Court Accompaniment: You don't have to face the courtroom alone. An advocate can go with you to hearings, protection order filings, or other legal appointments.

Navigating the System: The legal process can be slow and confusing. We help you understand your rights, keep track of deadlines, and connect with attorneys or legal aid when you need them.

All of this is free and confidential. You can access legal advocacy without staying in shelter, without filing a police report, and without committing to any particular course of action.
